There is video of the Southern Tablelands storm of 22 January 2020, mostly time lapse, and it is easy to see why it held attention. The severe storm tracked across the tablelands and then moved on toward Sydney, and golf ball sized hail smashed Campbelltown in its path. The chaser got there just in time to catch it. A second supercell followed shortly behind the first, and that one was time lapsed as well, so the day gave two separate rotating storms through the same corridor rather than one. Golf balls are large enough to bruise panels and crack screens, and when they fall over a built up area like Campbelltown the damage spreads quickly across a lot of cars in a short time. Two supercells in an afternoon is a solid day for anyone who follows storms around the tablelands and the western suburbs, and the footage makes a good record of how fast the second one arrived behind the first.
